Lake Norman Toyota focuses on Retail Sales

Lake Norman Toyota recently constructed a new facility and needed some assistance in the design and layout of their retail showroom.  These areas are increasingly becoming a focus of automotive dealerships around the country for customers who want to add aftermarket components to their car and trucks. They also sell service items for the do-it-yourself auto owners and t-shirts and hats for the owners that our proud to show off their brands.  Engineered Handling was happy to show our customer that we not only specialize in parts shelving and mezzanines, but we also carry a full line of products for the retail areas as well.

Engineered Handling was able to provide a turnkey system that allowed Toyota of Lake Norman to immediately see results and sales.  Pictured above are mobile gondola shelving units for service fluids and filters that can easily be moved and secured.  Also pictured is a grid-wall system for t-shirts, hats, bug-screens, etc.  Not pictured above are the display showcases for small items such as key chains and license plates.

From the “back room” to the “front room” our team of sales engineers have the experience and creative know-how to provide your dealership with all of your storage needs.  If you would like to see more of our automotive projects please call 704-333-4446 to have our customized CD-ROM mailed to you.  This CD contains pictures of parts room shelving, mezzanines and retail accessories that can help you with ideas for your existing or new dealership!

Take advantage of Revised Capital Expenditure Tax Laws

2003 Federal Tax Changes Provide Enormous Savings on Material Handling Equipment Purchase This Year!

Why The Changes? On March 9, 2002, President Bush Signed into law the “Job Creation and Worker Assistance Act of 2002” (HR3090).  This bill was designed to provide certain measures of tax relief for businesses and individuals.  Although most of the provisions of this new law affect 2002 tax returns, several of the changes took effect retroactively to September 11, 2001.

The 30% Bonus Depreciation Deduction: The biggest new law benefit allows businesses to claim greater first year write-offs for purchases of computers, machinery and other equipment that is depreciated under the Modified Accelerated Cost Recovery Systems (MACRS) with a recovery period of 20 years or less).  Businesses are eligible to claim an additional first year “30% bonus depreciation” deduction.  New “additional” depreciation equal to 30% of the “adjusted basis” (usually the cost) of “eligible” property Taxpayers are still entitled to the normal first-year depreciation on the remaining basis of the asset after reducing the basis by the bonus depreciation. Updated: Revised on May 5th 2003 bonus % raised to 50%.

Material Handling Equipment and Solutions: Following the new tax guidelines, the following products/solutions could qualify for the first year “50% Bonus Depreciation” deduction:

Example of the Potential Tax Savings!

                $500,000 Purchase with a 7-Year MACRS Depreciati

Old Plan:                $71,428 1st Year Depreciation

New Plan:              $285,725 1st Year Depreciation

An Additional $214,297 Deduction Results in a Potential $85,504 in Additional Tax Savings.
